Who Is a Truly Righteous Man in God’s Eyes

    By Chengshi

The Lord Jesus said, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father” (Matthew 13:43). These words tell us that only righteous man can enter God’s kingdom, and enjoy the blessings of the heavenly kingdom. So what kind of people are righteous? Most Christians reckon that as long as we accept the Lord Jesus’ salvation, persistently attend meetings, often pray and read the Bible, show others tolerance, patience and love, can suffer, work, trek and expend, we will then be righteous man in God’s eyes and be people after God’s heart. Is this view right? Does it accord with the Lord’s will? It’s necessary to fellowship about this topic, because only if we correctly understand the standard for being righteous man can we seek in accordance with God’s requirements and enter the kingdom of heaven in the end. Let’s fellowship about this issue.

Hebrews 13:2 Commentary: Should We Entertain Strangers?

By Chen Hui

Early one morning, I sat by the window reading the Bible: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrews 13:2). This verse tells us to entertain strangers with love, I thought. Since they are strangers, they must be people whom we don’t know, yet the pastor often tells us not to receive strangers by quoting the scriptures, “I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ to another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ” (Galatians 1:6–7). He says that as our statures are too small and we cannot distinguish, we should never receive any stranger who preaches the gospel. Ah, what exactly is the Lord’s will? What should I do? Should I receive the strangers who preach the gospel or not?

Just when I was feeling very perplexed, Sister Li in the church came to visit me, so I eagerly asked her: “Sister Li, the pastor often preaches to us, ‘I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ to another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ’ (Galatians 1:6–7). He doesn’t let us receive strangers, much less hear or see what they are preaching. But today I came across this verse, ‘Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares’ (Hebrews 13:2), which teaches us to entertain strangers with love. So should we receive strangers or not? I’d like to hear your view on this matter.” Continue reading

Meaning of Revelation 22:18 About Not Adding Things to the Prophecies

By Li Qing

Editor’s note: We all know the passage in the Book of Revelation about not adding things to the prophecies, and many of us therefore believe that if there are people preaching that the Lord has returned to perform new work and utter new words, that would be adding something to the Bible. As a result, even when they hear the news about the Lord’s return, they do not seek or investigate it. But is this understanding really in line with the Lord’s will?

One day, I was reading the Bible in the house when Sister Zheng suddenly came to visit me. She said happily: “Sister Li, I came here today to tell you some good news—the Lord Jesus, whom we have been expecting has returned, and He is carrying out a new stage of work.” So saying, she took a book entitled The Scroll Opened by the Lamb out of her bag, saying: “Look! This is the new word expressed by the returned Lord Jesus, the water of life that flows from the throne! …”

Christian Reflection on Life: It Isn’t Worth It to Exchange Life for Money

God’s salvation, God’s words , worship God, God’s blessings, Believing in God,

By Youxin

Editor’s Note:

Everyone agrees with the views “Money makes the world go round” and “No pain, no gain.” Thus, in order to become wealthy, lots of people desperately make money until their bodies collapse from exhaustion, the author of this article being no exception. For the sake of making money, she started picking up coals at only 15 years old, and thus developed cervical spondylosis; after marriage, she kept struggling to make money, and in the end made herself sick and couldn’t go on working. Later, God’s salvation came to her, and she finally came to understand that this is harm done by Satan. She deeply realized: It isn’t worth it to exchange life for money.

There being no clouds in the blue sky, I was standing in the yard enjoying the sunshine and feeling particularly happy. I thought back on the past several decades, how in order to make others look up to me I had struggled to make money and thus lived in misery. It was God’s words that led me to establish a correct view on life and gave me a new life direction. At this moment, I couldn’t help but cast my mind back to my childhood … Continue reading

Daily Devotionals | The Most Wonderful Blessing

God’s Blessings, Almighty God, the Holy Spirit, God’s words, church,

The drama The Most Wonderful Blessing is the story of a preacher in a house church. He believed that just by giving up his home and his job, and working and preaching the gospel he could gain God’s blessing. After accepting Almighty God’s work of the last days he continued on as usual, and as a leader in the church focused only on working hard while neglecting to put God’s words into practice. He often relied on his own corrupt disposition in his affairs. God loathed this, and he lost the work of the Holy Spirit. After losing his position as a leader, for a time he was negative and resistant to God, but the judgment of God’s words awoke him. He realized that God’s most wonderful blessing for mankind is His judgment and chastisement.

Why Did the Jews Yearn for the Coming of the Messiah yet Oppose Him When He Truly Came?

the-coming-of-the-Messiah

By Xia Wei

As we all know, the Jews were God’s chosen people, Israel was the birthplace of God’s work, the Old Testament predicted that the Messiah would lead the lives of the Israelites, and thus the Jews had eagerly yearned for the coming of the Messiah. But why was it that when the Messiah—the Lord Jesus—truly came to work, they didn’t accept Him, yet opposed Him and even crucified Him? This is what we will talk about today. May the Lord guide us.

The first reason was that the Jews relied on their imaginings and notions to understand the prophecies and delimit God’s work.
It is recorded in chapter 9, verses 6–7 in the Book of Isaiah, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.Continue reading

Do You Know the Way to Trusting God Through Trials?

Do You Know the Way to Trusting God Through Trials?

By Huixin

Every brother and sister will encounter trials, like illness, persecution and suffering, natural and manmade disasters. When these situations befall us, they are tests of our faith and obedience toward God. The Bible says, “For You, O God, have proved us: You have tried us, as silver is tried” (Psalm 66:10). “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2–4). From this we can see that trials are God’s tests and ordeals for people. They can temper people’s will, refine their confidence, cleanse the impurity in their belief in God, further their spiritual growth and make them soon become someone after God’s heart. What Is the Rapture Before Tribulation? What Is an Overcomer Made Before the Tribulation?

Hello brothers and sisters of Our Daily Devotionals,

We are now in the last stage of the last days, I’ve seen in the news that all kinds of disasters are growing and growing in scale, and whether or not I can be caught up before the disasters and made into an overcomer before the disasters are key issues for me. My opinion about these two issues is that, so long as we hold to the name of the Lord no matter what happens, work hard for the Lord and do not turn back as we go through all manner of adversities, then we can become overcomers. And when the disasters come, we can then be caught up into the sky to meet with the Lord and enjoy His promise. But some have questioned my opinion, saying that some people have now achieved this and that, moreover, the disasters are growing in scale and many kinds of disasters have befallen us already, and yet still no one has been seen being raised up into the sky. Does being caught up really mean being raised up into the sky? And is it so simple to become an overcomer, that one becomes an overcomer just by achieving these things? I don’t quite understand all this, so I’d like to ask your opinion. Looking forward to your reply!
